Sandboxie provides a virtual space (Sandbox) for testing
applications, browse the Internet and manipulate files safely. Indeed,
elements manipulated in this secure area can not reach the hard drive.
Sandbox This may constitute a tool of anonymity and protection against
attacks and intrusions. A manager can list running processes, manage the
contents of the Sandbox and create more secure areas.
Sandboxie was created by the developer Ronen Tzur (later acquired by
the software development company Invincea) was created in June of 2004
with a goal of becoming very easy and very safe to use software
“isolation program” that will enable anyone to create their own
operating environment that would not allow processes that run in it to
touch anything outside of it. This feature had two-fold use. It enabled
developers to have fully isolated environment for controlled testing of
their applications, and enabled anyone (especially users with good
technical knowledge about programming, operating system and software
security) to test, locate and find a way to remove various local
malicious apps or compromised web destinations in the environment that
would not endanger host machine.
